Confrere Henry of the Sacred Heart. 25.June.1890. Province of St. Joseph. Soon after the death of Confrere Felicissimo another young student who had just given himself to God with great fervour of spirit was called by Our Lord and died the precious death of the just. He was born in Ireland in 1863 and was called in the world Thomas Conney. In the twentieth year of his age he wished to, become a Passionist and was admitted into the Novitiate at Broadway where he made his profession in June 1887. After the first year of his studies his failing health indicated the manifest symptoms of consumption. The good young man did not complain but bore very peacefully for an entire year the sufferings occasioned by that disease, entirely resigned to the Will of God and giving to all the religious examples of virtue. He died in the Retreat of St. Joseph, London, in the twenty-seventh year of his age, after having spent only four years in the Congregation.
