FR. LAMBERT HAYDEN, C.P. On November 14th, after a brief illness, Rev. Fr. Lambert Hayden, C.P., died at Holy Cross Retreat, Ardoyne, Belfast at the age of seventy-seven years. A native of Dublin, the late Fr. Lambert was twenty-four years of age when he sought admission to the Passionists. He was professed in 1916 and ordained in Dublin on December 23rd, 1922. After ordination he was attached for some years to St. Joseph’s Retreat, Highgate, London, but in 1930 he was transferred to Belfast where he spent the remaining thirty-six years of his life. Slow and deliberate in speech and manner, he was at the same time a genial and gentle companion. He was for many years engaged in parochial duties until failing health rendered him more or less inactive. He was a brother of the late Judge Hayden of the High Court of South Africa and is survived by two sisters. R. I. P. (The Cross, Vol. LVII, 1966-67;No. 9, p. 22)
