Peace and Blessing in the Lord With the sanction of our Most Rev. L. General we hereby assign the 8th day of August, as the date for the canonical opening of the 22nd Provincial Chapt. of our Province, to behold at St. Joseph's Retreat, London. we request the Capitular Fathers to be at the said Retreat not later than the previous lunching. hee do not need to impress upon you the importance of this scient, unselfishly ordained by Leanon Law and by our Constitutions. In the past, through the united persuasing effort of Superiors and Subjects, whether clerical or lay. Through the devoted and assiduous work, of those who have been charged with the mental and spiritual training of our young Religious, and through the suffragining labours of our Preachers and Confessors, our Congregation has been yearly gaining in numbers, in influence and in public external home and in Australia. while we thank God for having so believed us, we implore still grate. favours from this boundly. we have done much with this help, but still more remains to be accomplished for them. It is for the Chapter to take measures for the continued progress of our Province. Its principal work will be to select Superiors for the coming three years, who by word and example, will maintain discipline and promote the regular observance. It will also have to decide very important matters upon which the future of the entire Province depends. --- Page 3 --- 11 The kapitular Fathers will need special help from on Night to discharge these duties in a manner calculated by unthe the interests of blivist, buncified and the Spiritual good of our Religious and of souls. We therefore request the fenced prayers of the Brethren for the success of the blapte. In addition we prescribe that from the receipt of this letter till the time of the assembling day. They shall recite in common, during the turning meditation, or at other suitable time, four Patrices, Arces and Glorias in terms of St. Michael, St. Joseph, St. Paul of the Bures, and of St. Gatriel, with the respective versicles and prayers, for the same intention. Furthermore that for the nine days preceding the blapte, the Verni Creator with versicle and prayer, and the Litany of the B. V. In with antiphon and prayer be recited. During the first three days of the blapte, the Viduum order delight our Holy Rule will be made in the manner prescribed by our Ritual. We remind the Rectors to bring with them their Litterary Patentis, their seals of office and the following tourner to :- I. Certificate of exact keeping of the Archiers, signed by the Rector and Vicar. II. Certificate of the factiful celebration of the Incorporation during the last three years signed by all the Priests of the Community except the Rector. III. Inventory of House, Church, and Sacristy. IV. Financial Statement, giving 1) the income and expenditure, ordinary and extraordinary, since the last blapte, with balance in House and Bank, at the beginning and end of term. 2) Amount of monies on deposit with interest receivable, and of standing debts with interest payable. 3) Amount of salaries on other monies due to the house, as also of current debts, giving amount due to each exclusion. 4) Amounts of endorsements or of rents received from properties, and of rents and of fen duties payable by us. --- Page 4 --- The Financial Statement should show com- hanision with the financial position at last Chapter. It should be signed by the Rector and Committees and be copied into the Administration Book. V. Form giving an account of the spiritual state of the congregations under our charge, a copy of which should be Rept in the Archives. The Superiors of Here Bay and of our Australian Houses are required to forward in good time to the President of the Chapter the above named documents.
